Creating a Marvel Theme Wardrobe |
At the weekend I found some wallpaper in B&Q which I thought was fab but also very expensive! £13 for 1 roll of
Marvel wallpaper. Now for me, that is too expensive to cover Max's walls in so I decided to do the next best thing - buy 1 roll and update his bedroom furniture.

Tools needed to update the bedroom furniture |
I started with the drawers - rather pleased I did as these were more complex to do then the wardrobe so it was nice to get these out the way. As the drawers have a red section in the middle and round edges I decided to only cover the red - so that involved measuring and to my surprise - it wasn't too bad to do! I measured out the paper for all 3 drawers in one strip and then used the edge of each drawer to measure the length.

Preparing the drawers |
I covered each of the drawers with Modge Podge and after placing the paper I found it quite easy to move the paper slightly when needed to ensure the line up was straight and then used a cutting knife around the edges for a smooth finish and I must say, I'm rather proud of myself! I don't' know why I shy away from the cutting knife it really is a great tool to own.

I'm usually not one for blowing my own trumpet but I am very pleased with the result of these drawers! The wardrobe was nowhere near as difficult as I imaged (nice change, usually it's the other way round). The doors are small so once I cut the paper to size I covered the top half of the door with Modge Podge and glued and smoothed the wallpaper down then I repeated this step for the bottom half of the door.

Covering Wardrobe doors with Marvel Wallpaper |
As the wallpaper is not wide enough to cover both doors I just used the right edge of the wallpaper for the right door and the left edge of the wallpaper for the left door so the whole sheet is used, just at different levels.
This was all achieved on a Sunday morning and I do believe patience, slow and steady hand is what played the main role in this task for me.
Here are my finished pieces and my boy's revamped bedroom furniture - so what do you think?
