Some of the best Easter Egg hunts aren't always run by big companies!

This year, one of my favourite charities HFT put on various Easter Egg Hunts around the counties with Kent being their biggest and most popular.

Unfortunately, we were unable to get over to Kent for the main event, but we were able to pop up to the Sussex Orchards on the 4th April for a mini-event.

HFT have one of the best fundraising organisers around.   After attending their Gruffalo trail (which they are no longer allowed to do due to copyright! boo!), Core Fest and Bear Hunt, I knew we would not be disappointed with the egg hunt.

The weather was appalling and as a result, kept many people away, but for those who know kids love mud, rain and puddles will know that whatever the weather they'll have fun.

And boy did we have fun!

We were met by the charity's fundraiser manager Paul at the entrance of the orchards.  He gave us a booklet which had 18 egg designs on and we had to find the large wooden eggs which matched these designs in the grounds, as each egg had a letter and this would help us complete the sentence in the book.

The eggs and booklet were designed and printed by people with learning difficulties and I have to admit, it was much more fun, colourful and interesting than the national hunt organised by a far bigger commercial company that we attended!

At least with this hunt, we were looking for eggs, all be it wooden ones but still decorated Easter eggs.

To make it that little bit more fun, there was a Wonderland theme around the Forest complete with games to play.

I made a short video to show how much fun my son had.   If you get the chance I highly recommend you catch one of HFT's charity events.  They really are good fun, and most of all, they are raising much-needed funds for people with learning disabilities.

Up and coming events are:
The Pop Up Fashion show in Worthing in April which I mentioned in my video
Kylie on Show in Worthing in June and
Core Fest at Sussex Orchards in Arundel at the end of June

If you're local, do think about going, I'm sure you will not be disappointed.  I never am!
