Dr Tony Ortega is a licensed clinical psychologist and life coach and has come at this self-help book in a different way to many books that I've read. #AreYouHereYet? feels more like reading someone chatting to you.
Tony writes about relationships, social media, drama and the dismissal of the Law of Attraction to name a few sections. The latter I found quite hard to read, as I have read the Secret and a very spiritual person.
I feel this will suit those who don't like to be preached at, or authors who talk at you with lists you need to complete. This book feels more like having a meeting/chat with Tony where you "Listen" to Dr Ortega give his thoughts on a situation, then give out "Cue-Cards" in the form of #OMG moments and finally, Tony sets "Homework" in the form of Tea Time with Tony, which is where you go away and think about statements and questions before starting the next chapter.
As you can tell from the title of the book Tony is straight-talking. Telling you as it is with swearing and a bit of lusting after Channing Tatum to boot. The title of the book sets the tone, so if the title offends then I strongly suggest you don't buy this book.
If, however, self-help books have not done it for you in the past or you feel the author is not listening to your needs as a minority then hell yes, this book is for you!
We are not all the same, so why should we expect one self-help book to appeal to us all? If we were to talk to a therapist we may not gel with that person and ask for another. It's the same with these books!
